Let’s Talk Goal Setting

How many times have we set goals for the New Year and then three months later completly have fallen off the wagon? If you’re anything like me, that answer is TOO MANY. After years of trail and error- I have offically found and follow a handful of “rules” that make me a GOAL CRUSHER. Setting and achieving goals feels SO good & can really help grow your personal development that leads you straight to success in both your personal and professional life.

  1. Make your goals specific and achievable. Setting clear and specific goals helps you know exactly what you’re working towards. Make sure your goals are also achievable within a reasonable time frame… no need to set yourself up for failure.
  2. Write them down. Writing your goals down helps make them feel more real and gives you a sense of accountability. I like to create a goal planner or journal to track my progress and stay on track.
  3. Break your goals down into smaller steps. HUGE goals can be intimidating and overwhelming!! Break them down into smaller, more manageable steps to make them feel much more attainable.
  4. Create a schedule. (I schedule everything in my life- it helps me stay sane). Establishing a regular schedule helps you stay focused and make progress towards your goals. Set aside specific time in each day or week to work on your goals.
  5. Find an accountability partner. Sharing your goals with a friend, partner, or social media can provide accountability (and support!!!) as you work towards crushing them.
  6. Celebrate your progress. It’s important to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem!! This WILL help you stay motivated and focused on your bigger and more long-term goals.
  7. Stay flexible. Life is unpredictable & your goals may need to change as you live your day to day. Don’t be afraid to tweak your goals or the steps you’re taking to achieve them if you’re feeling like you need to!

By following these steps, I have set and kept MANY goals (and have achieved success!!!) Remember to be patient and consistent, and you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals. I believe in you! Cheers to 2023!!!
