The Perfect Cup of MATCHA

Imagine this... you wake on a Saturday morning to a gentle stream of sunlight pouring into your room, instantly filling you with warmth. Nobody else is awake yet, so the house is quiet and you have at least the next twenty minutes to yourself. You pop out of bed, slide into your fuzziest slippers, and toss on your favorite face mask. OH HOW LUXURIOUS... while your skincare is soaking in, you fill the time with the smoothest, creamiest, most refreshing morning pick me up you can think of... ever had a matcha latte? It's like coffee, but better

If you've never had a matcha latte (or only have had crappy drive-thru ones), follow along for my favorite recipe at home to get my morning started.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder (this one is great!)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water
  • Lots of ice
  • Milk of choice (I love oat milk)
  • Milk frother (like this!)

STEP 1: You put a few teaspoons of matcha powder in a measuring cup and add a few tablespoons of hot water.

STEP 2: Whisk (froth) it until the matcha has dissolved and then pour in the remaining water (few more tablespoons) and whisk again. If I have the time, I transfer it to the fridge or freezer to chill for about 15 minutes.

STEP 3: After the matcha is cooled, add a ridiculous amount of ice to a glass. Then, pour the oat milk (or milk of choice) in and add a splash of hazlenut syrup (vanilla is delish, too!). Lastly, pour in the matcha on top!
